A US-based documentary and editorial wedding photographer born and raised in the midwest.
Her family is from Macedonia, and growing up between two cultures and languages shaped how she saw people and the world around her. It taught her to listen closely, to notice what isn’t always said out loud.
Being the oldest child to an immigrant family really shapes how you move through the world. Sam spent a lot of time alone, just observing. Noticing patterns, pauses, and emotional shifts. She has always felt most comfortable on the edges of a room, watching how people relate to one another. That instinct carries directly into how she photographs weddings.
“My approach is gentle and unobtrusive. I work with a soft footprint, allowing events to unfold naturally rather than directing or interrupting them. I’m less interested in perfection and more interested in honesty. The way something actually felt. The truth of the day as it happened.
I believe the most meaningful images come from trust, from presence, and from letting the day breathe as it truly is.”

You won't hear me say, "let's do that again" over and over for the sake of a perfectly curated photo. I'd rather you be completely present in each moment. I'd rather you really feel your loved ones around you - how proud they are, the tears on their faces, and the loving energy that will surround you all day. My role is to honor those moments the way they are without my interference. It's to document one of the most important days of your life, not direct a photoshoot.
Seeing your wedding album should help you recall what the day felt like. Even when you're revisiting it at 90 years old. Maybe even when future generations are revisiting it with wide eyes and nostalgic recognition.
Your wedding photos are truly a collaboration largely dictated by your personalities and your unique love for one another. I have no intention to mess with that.
If this resonates with you, let’s do this thing.
